Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar browser technologies are, exactly what satiatepdx.com stores on your device, and how you can control it. The short version is that we store very little, nothing that tracks you across other websites, and nothing at all from third parties. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Last updated: October 1, 2026.

    Summary

    • We do not set any cookies by default, and we do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers or social-media embed scripts.
    • We use your browser’s localStorage only to remember your cookie-consent choice.
    • We use sessionStorage, which clears when you close the tab, to show your first name on the thank-you page after you submit a form.
    • All fonts and scripts are hosted on our own server, so reading Satiate does not send requests to Google or other third parties.
    • You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page, or by clearing your browser's site data.

    1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to save. Your browser sends them back to the site with each later request, which lets the site recognize your browser over time. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by other domains, such as advertising networks or analytics services, are third-party cookies.

Websites can also store information using other browser features that work in a similar way:

    • localStorage keeps small pieces of data in your browser with no built-in expiry date. Unlike cookies, it is not sent to the website's server automatically; it can only be read by scripts running on the same website.
    • sessionStorage works like localStorage but is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab or window.
    • Pixels, tags and fingerprinting are other techniques some sites use to track visitors. Satiate does not use any of them.

Privacy laws, including the EU and UK ePrivacy rules, treat these technologies the same way as cookies: storing or reading information on your device generally requires your consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide something you have asked for. In this policy, "cookies" refers to all of them unless we say otherwise.

    2. Exactly what this site stores

Satiate is a static website. It has no user accounts, no logins, no shopping cart, and no third-party code that sets its own cookies. The complete list of items our site may store in your browser is below.

    NameTypeCategoryPurposeDuration
satiate_consentlocalStorageStrictly necessaryRecords whether you chose “Necessary only” or “Accept” in the cookie banner, and when, so we do not ask again on every page.Until you clear your browser storage or change your choice
satiate_firstnamesessionStorageStrictly necessaryHolds the first name you entered in a form so the thank-you page can greet you by name. No other form data is stored.Until you close the browser tab

None of these items is sent to our server or to anyone else, none contains an identifier that follows you to other websites, and none is set by a third party.

    What our hosting provider sees

Like every website, our pages are delivered by a web server. Our hosting provider automatically receives standard request information such as your IP address and browser type. This is not a cookie and is not stored on your device; it is described in our Privacy Policy.

    What we do not use

    • No third-party analytics (for example, no Google Analytics or similar services).
    • No advertising, retargeting or affiliate tracking cookies.
    • No social-media "like," "share" or embed scripts.
    • No externally hosted fonts or script libraries. Our fonts and scripts are served from our own domain.
    • No session-replay, heat-mapping or fingerprinting tools.

    3. Categories and how consent works

We group storage into two categories, which correspond to the choices in our consent banner.

CategoryWhat it coversCan you switch it off?
Strictly necessaryStorage required for features you use or ask for: remembering your consent choice and personalizing the thank-you page after you submit a form. Not through the banner, because the site needs it to respect your choices. You can still block or clear it in your browser.
OptionalReserved for any future feature that is not strictly necessary, such as an embedded map or video, or privacy-friendly audience measurement.Yes. Optional features stay off unless you accept them.

    What "optional" means today

At present, accepting "optional" in the banner does not load anything extra. No third-party service is activated and no additional cookies are set. We simply record your choice in satiate_consent so that, if we add an optional feature in the future, we already know your preference. Before introducing any new optional feature, we will update this policy and, if the change is material, ask for your consent again.

    Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a decision to decline optional storage on that browser, in addition to the opt-out rights described in our Privacy Policy.

You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

    1. Use the "Cookie settings" link. Every page on satiatepdx.com has a "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Selecting it reopens the consent banner so you can choose "necessary only" or accept "optional" again. Your new choice replaces the old one immediately.
    2. Clear your site data. Deleting the stored data for satiatepdx.com in your browser removes satiate_consent and all other items listed above. The banner will appear again on your next visit.
    3. Use private browsing. In a private or incognito window, anything stored is deleted when you close the window.
Tip: If you block all site storage in your browser, Satiate will still work. You may simply see the consent banner on each visit, and the thank-you page will use a general greeting instead of your first name.

    5. Browser controls

All major browsers let you view, block and delete cookies and site data. Menu names change between versions, so treat these as general directions and check your browser's help pages if something has moved. In most browsers, clearing "cookies and site data" also clears localStorage and sessionStorage.

    Google Chrome

Open the menu (three dots), choose Settings, then Privacy and security. Under Third-party cookies or Site settings you can block cookies. To remove what a single site has stored, click the site controls icon to the left of the address bar while on satiatepdx.com and choose the option to delete data or manage cookies and site data.

    Mozilla Firefox

Open the menu (three lines), choose Settings, then Privacy & Security. Under Cookies and Site Data, select Manage Data to find and remove satiatepdx.com, or adjust Enhanced Tracking Protection to block more. You can also click the padlock icon in the address bar and choose to clear cookies and site data for the current site.

    Apple Safari

On a Mac, open Safari, then Settings (or Preferences), then Privacy. Choose Manage Website Data to remove data for individual sites, or turn on the option to block all cookies. On iPhone and iPad, go to the Settings app, then Safari, then Advanced and Website Data, where you can remove data for a specific site.

    Microsoft Edge

Open the menu (three dots), choose Settings, then Cookies and site permissions and Manage and delete cookies and site data. Select See all cookies and site data to search for satiatepdx.com and delete it, or choose to block cookies. You can also use the padlock icon in the address bar while on our site.

    Mobile browsers and other browsers

Most mobile browsers have equivalent options in their settings under privacy, site settings or website data. If you use a different browser, its help pages will explain how to manage cookies and site storage.

Our articles and guides link to wineries, restaurants, tourism boards and other organizations we think you will find useful. When you follow a link and leave satiatepdx.com, the site you visit may set its own cookies and use its own tracking technologies. We do not control those sites, and this policy does not apply to them. We recommend reviewing the cookie and privacy policies of any site you visit.

Links on Satiate are ordinary links. They do not carry tracking parameters that identify you, and we do not receive information about what you do on other websites.

    7. Changes to this policy

If we change what our site stores, for example by adding an optional embedded map or privacy-friendly audience measurement, we will update the table in section 2, revise the "Last updated" date, and, where the law or good practice requires, ask for your consent again through the banner before anything new is stored.
